BAROQUE TREASURES - MUSICA SACRA
Claudio Monteverdi: Selva morale e spirituale
FROM ST. STEPHEN'S CATHEDRAL VIENNA
In the decades in which Claudio Monteverdi composed for San Marco as Kapellmeister, he created a new, groundbreaking type of church music. His idea of bringing together southern rhythms from folk music with millennium-old psalms from the Old Testament was ignited. With a selection of works from this collection of sacred music, the Bach Consort Wien traces the Passion of Jesus Christ, right up to Easter.
