Amadeus, Amadeus – Sound of Winter Salzburg
A Christmas film set to the music of Mozart, shot at the DomQuartier Salzburg and in Salzburg’s old town.
Across the four Sundays of Advent, the film follows a girl named Anna through the DomQuartier Salzburg and Salzburg’s old town. From her everyday world she finds her way into a dream world that opens up through Mozart’s music, as the story moves towards Christmas.
The music carries the story. Works by Mozart – among them “Ave verum corpus”, music from “Davide penitente”, “Abendempfindung”, the Serenade, K. 388, and “Laudate Dominum” – trace Anna’s path from doubt and loneliness to hope and trust.
Ensemble Zefiro plays under the overall musical direction of Alfredo Bernardini, together with the Bachchor Salzburg; the soloists are Miriam Kutrowatz, Olivia Vermeulen, Michael Schade and Daniel Gutmann. Anna is played by Leopoldine Richards.
