Easter Sounds from Madrid
A concert from the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid – from Arvo Pärt to Mozart’s Requiem.
The programme opens with a prayer for peace: the Gregorian “Da pacem Domine” and Arvo Pärt’s setting of the same text. It continues with Mozart’s motet “Exsultate, jubilate” and his “Ave verum corpus”, followed by Knut Nystedt’s “Immortal Bach”, an arrangement of Bach’s “Komm, süßer Tod”. It closes with Mozart’s Requiem in D minor in the completion by Franz Xaver Süssmayr. The programme thus spans Gregorian chant, Mozart and works by Knut Nystedt (1988) and Arvo Pärt (2004).
The performers are the vocal ensemble and orchestra BARUCCO under Heinz Ferlesch, with Anne Marie Dragosits at the organ.
The concert was recorded in February 2026 at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, as a multi-camera production together with the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE.
