The International Baroque Days Melk Abbey opened their 2026 festival on 22 May with George Frideric Handel’s “Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno”. In this early oratorio, to a libretto by Benedetto Pamphili, four allegorical figures face one another: Beauty (Bellezza), Pleasure (Piacere), Disillusion (Disinganno) and Time (Tempo).

Stefan Gottfried conducts Concentus Musicus Wien; the singers are Giulia Semenzato as Bellezza, Patricia Nolz as Piacere, Mara Gaudenzi as Disinganno and Michael Schade as Tempo.
